Questions

Are hostels a good idea for Indian students travelling abroad?
Usually, yes. A dorm bed is often the cheapest safe bed in town, and hostels make it easy to meet other travellers. Pick a well-reviewed hostel near public transport and use the lockers.
What does a hostel bed cost?
It depends on the city and season. As a rough guide, dorm beds in Southeast Asia often cost under ₹1,000 a night, while Western European cities run roughly ₹2,000 to ₹4,000. The search shows live prices for your dates.
Can I get a women-only dorm?
Many hostels have female-only dorms. Look for them in the room options on Hostelworld, and see our travel safety guides for women before you go.
Do I pay more if I book through Youth Travel India?
No. You pay Hostelworld’s normal price. We may earn a commission from Hostelworld, at no extra cost to you.
Do I need a visa?
Most countries need a visa or e-visa for Indian passport holders. Each of our city guides has a Stay safe section with the current entry rules.
