Permits & reaching base

No permit needed, pay only the small Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary forest check-post fee at Chopta or Baniyakund.

Base: Chopta. Take the train to Rishikesh or Haridwar, then a bus or shared cab to Rudraprayag and Ukhimath and on to Chopta. Walk from Chopta to Tungnath and Chandrashila, with Deoria Tal reached from Sari village by road.

Key waypoints are verified against published sources; remote camps are operator-reported positions. The line is schematic, not a surveyed GPS track. Trails shift with weather — carry your operator's current GPS track, a registered guide and all permits.
