Permits & reaching base

No Inner Line Permit for Indians, ILP for foreigners, plus Hemis National Park entry fee paid at Zingchen or Chogdo.

Base: Leh. Fly to Leh (IXL) or take the train to Jammu/Pathankot then drive Srinagar-Leh or Manali-Leh to Leh town. Acclimatise in Leh for 2 days, then drive to Spituk/Zingchen to start and exit via Chogdo to Hemis and back to Leh.

Key waypoints are verified against published sources; remote camps are operator-reported positions. The line is schematic, not a surveyed GPS track. Trails shift with weather — carry your operator's current GPS track, a registered guide and all permits.
